As a real estate agent I spend a lot of time with clients discussing the “dos” and “don'ts” of selling their home. One topic that is always at the top of my list is curb appeal. Considering how much work is involved with just making home buyers aware of a new house on the market it is vital to make a good impression from the very start. If they don’t like what they see from the outside there’s no way they’re coming inside for a closer look and that is a home selling disaster.
Just the other day I was having this very discussion with a client and was trying to suggest a few changes that would make the home more appealing from the street when it occurred to me that a picture really is worth a thousand words. Later that evening I was scouring the internet for some useful pictures that I could show to clients as a basic guide to help improve the outside appearance of their home. That’s when I discovered the pictures below. Admittedly they are extreme examples of what not to do but I just couldn’t resist sharing them!
I don't know what the story is with the car in the side of the house but I suspect that one isn't a permanent situation. As for the mailbox at the bottom? Well, I'll admit that I can appreciate that one in my own way!
